This was quite good. I read the Graham Greene novel last year and finally got around to watching the movie yesterday. Our Man in Havana (the film) was released in 1959 and stars a roughly 45-year-old Alec Guinness. It very closely follows the book, though Wormold's daughter in the novel was cheekier, if I remember correctly. The checkers scene with the whisky and bourbon miniatures plays out just as Greene described, with Guinness neatly fitting into the Wormold character. Great entertainment for a dismal Sunday afternoon. You can also find online some good shots of Guinness with Fidel Castro visiting the film crew.
